Connected to your wider care team
We work alongside the GPs, obstetricians, midwives and specialists who care for you, and with your consent we keep your doctor updated, so nothing falls through the gaps. You don't need a doctor's referral to book with our women's health physiotherapists, though we're always happy to work from one.
Conditions our women's health physiotherapists treat
Women's health physiotherapy covers far more than one moment in life. From your first period to well beyond menopause, our women's health physiotherapists assess and treat the issues that affect how you move, train, work and rest. Many trace back to the pelvic floor, the muscles that support your bladder, bowel and pelvic organs, and pelvic floor physiotherapy can help you retrain it and take the pressure off. Common conditions we treat include:

Women's Physiotherapy FAQs
Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in easily. Bring any relevant scans, ultrasound or specialist letters, a list of medications, and your Medicare, private health or claim details so we can process rebates on the day. If you're coming for a pregnancy or postnatal concern, your maternity notes are handy but not essential.
Your GP and gynaecologist diagnose and manage medical conditions, and may prescribe medication or refer you for surgery. A women's health physiotherapist focuses on the muscles, joints and connective tissue involved, especially the pelvic floor, using hands-on treatment, exercise and education. The two work well together, and we're happy to coordinate with your doctor so your care joins up.
Gentle guidance can begin in the early weeks, and a full postnatal assessment is usually done from around six weeks after birth, often around the time of your GP check. If you've had a caesarean, a complicated delivery, or you're already noticing symptoms like leaking or heaviness, let us know and we'll advise the right starting point for you.
You're welcome to bring your baby, and there's space to feed, settle or change them if you need to. A partner, friend or family member is also welcome to sit in for support, or to step out for any part of the assessment, whatever helps you feel most at ease.
Yes, and many women prefer to. Let our reception team know when you book and we'll match you with a female clinician. If your preferred therapist isn't available on your chosen day, we'll always tell you upfront rather than reschedule you without warning.
You can book privately without a referral. A referral is only needed for specific funding pathways, such as a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan, a workers compensation or CTP claim, or NDIS-managed care. If you're claiming through private health extras, just bring your fund card and we'll sort the rebate on the day.
